The ensemble Amici Veneziani was founded in 2017 and is grounded on long years of collaboration between the individual musicians with soprano Simone Kermes. The close personal and artistic bonds between the singer and the instrumentalists have generated an individual sound and innovative musical gestures of a superlative artistic standard. Each of the instrumentalists is also active successfully as soloist, for instance in the orchestra of La Scala Milan, in the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and in the orchestras of Rome, Padua, Palermo and Turin. They have also gathered much experience in different Baroque formations. Amici Veneziani have performed in concerts with Simone Kermes in the major concert halls of the world and at premier international festivals, including the Prinzregententheater Munich, the Dresden International Music Festival, the Meran Musikwochen, the Paris Salle Gaveau, the Konzerthaus and Philharmonic Hall in Berlin, the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the International Wiesbaden May Festival, the Lithuania Festival, the MDR-Radio Musiksommer, the Cologne Philharmonic and the International Malta Festival. February 2019 marked the release of Mio Caro Handel, their first CD recorded together with Simone Kermes. The album Inferno e Paradiso followed in 2020 – each with Sony Classical International. In 2021 the ensemble will be appearing as guest of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival for the first time.
