Eva Zalenga

The German soprano Eva Zalenga is a prizewinner of the German Music Competition as well as SWR Junge Opernstars, and has received the Emmerich Smola Sponsorship Award and the Orchestra Prize of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, among others.

Her artistic profile is marked by great stylistic versatility: she has appeared on the operatic stage, as Sophie (Werther) at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen and as Adele (Die Fledermaus) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Important concert and recital engagements have taken her to the Musikverein in Vienna, the Schubertiada in Spain, the Konzerthaus Blaibach, and the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg (Bach’s St. John Passion).

In 2024, her acclaimed debut album In Relations, featuring romantic world premiere recordings, was released and nominated for “Album of the Year” (Fonoforum). In 2025, her second album varia – bel, in a chamber music setting, followed and was likewise highly praised by the press.

After studying in Dresden and Leipzig, she became an ensemble member at the Theater St. Gallen and has appeared as a guest at the Leipzig Opera, the Staatstheater Hannover and the Staatsoperette Dresden, among others. She is a prizewinner of the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin as well as a winner of the Vienna International Music Competition and the competition of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg.

Born in Biberach (Baden-Württemberg), she received vocal training at an early age and won prizes at Jugend musiziert while still young. In addition to numerous scholarships, she was recently awarded the Zonta Culture Award.
