JAKUB JÓZEF ORLIŃSKI
Anima Aeterna
Il pomo d’oro | Francesco Corti
The award-winning break dancer and hip hop fan Jakub Józef Orliński has leapt into the top ranks of the most sought-after international counter tenors of our time. Whether in the New York Carnegie Hall or the London Wigmore Hall: with his poignantly beautiful, almost ethereal mezzo quality, the young Pole has made the leading concert platforms of this world his home. His interpretation of the aria “Vedro con mio diletto” from Vivaldi’s Griselda in Aix-en-Provence has already had more than 7.4 million hits on YouTube – a record for a counter tenor! But overnight popularity and hype are not his concern. He is far more on a constant quest to discover unknown and almost forgotten works, like those of the mysterious Portuguese Francisco António de Almeida, or Franceso Bartolomeo Conti, thrice spouse of prima donnas. With Anima Aeterna, Jakub Józef Orliński and the electrifying Baroque ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro directed by Francesco Corti are presenting a judiciously selected programme, which combines works of well-known masters like Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel with rarely heard jewels from the rich treasury of the musical Baroque.
