Schloss Birken

Culinary highlights under the eye of the Margravine – experience the Gala Dinner 2025

The Bayreuth Baroque Festival stands for musical excellence – and also for enjoyable encounters. Your new venue in 2025 is Birken Palace, a margravial gem from the 17th century, which will delight you as soon as you enter with its incomparable baroque atmosphere. Take a seat as princes and courtiers once did – and let yourself be pampered in baroque splendour!

This year, we are taking the experience to a new level with exquisite ideas: you can expect a 5-course menu in a class of its own – inspired by baroque recipes, interpreted in a modern way by internationally experienced top chefs who have joined the festival’s culinary team in 2025.

Florian Neumann will be your culinary guide through the evening. The stages of his successful career include renowned restaurants run by Michelin-starred chef Tilmann Hahn, the Rostock gourmet restaurant Der Butt and the 3-star restaurant Alex Atala D.O.M. in São Paulo. He has also worked as Heidi Klum’s private chef – a position that emphasises his versatility. Variety is very important for Florian Neumann’s own creativity, which is why he now supports top restaurants throughout Europe in their work and further development.

The dessert was created by pastry chef and patissier Peer Mitja Paulus, who has extensive experience in top hotels and restaurants. Today, he is responsible for the sweet finish to major social events – whether at the German Sports Ball or the VIP catering for the Adele concert series in Munich in collaboration with Feinkost Käfer.

But culinary delights alone do not make this evening: As a further highlight, festival stars will join you at the tables. You can look forward to the presence of the artistic director of the festival and this year’s ‘Pompeo Magno’ Max Emanuel Cencic, who will personally attend the gala dinner, as well as the soloist of the evening, Carlo Vistoli. Further artists have been requested.

Look forward to personal conversations, inspiring insights and genuine encounters at eye level and experience an evening that combines festival and enjoyment in an incomparable way. The most famous portrait of Margravine Wilhelmine, painted by Antoine Pesne, will accompany you at the front of the hall at Birken Castle.
