Born in Athens, Irini graduated from the Department of Music Studies of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She studied violin with Alexander Mato and voice with Christina Giannakopoulou, and she completed the two-year course on Early Music offered by Aris Christofellis and Dimitris Kountouras at the Early Music Center of Athens, Athens Conservatory.
Her repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary music. She has an active presence in concerts and festivals performing with the early music ensembles Ex Silentio directed by Dimitris Kountouras, Latinitas Νostra directed by Markellos Chryssicos, Ensemble of Early Music Center of Athens. She has participated in operas produced by institutions or festivals such as Greek National Opera, Megaron Athens Concert Hall, Athens-Epidaurus Festival, Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre, as well as theater and dance performances and music events staged by National Theater of Greece, Athens-Epidaurus Festival, Tanec Praha Festival, the Schoolwave Festival, etc. She appeared as Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and as Monica in Menotti’s Medium in the context of Lefkas Music Week in 2016/17.
In 2022 she co-founded the Lycabettus ensemble, which focuses on the music from the Middle Ages, especially on medieval music from the Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. She also plays the medieval fiddle and the saz.
