Margravial Opera House

The Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth is the best-preserved freestanding Baroque court theater and a unique monument to the festive and musical culture of the 18th century. This magnificent theater was built by Wilhelmina of Bayreuth, sister of Frederick the Great, inspired by the great opera houses in Vienna and Dresden. In 2012, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
