Schlosskirche Bayreuth

Schlosskirche Bayreuth

The Bayreuth Castle Church, a splendid hall church in the Bayreuth Rococo style, was built from 1753 to 1758 under Margravine Wilhelmine and Friedrich III. Designed initially as a Lutheran court and burial church, it was designed by court architect Joseph Saint-Pierre and adorned with elaborate ceiling stuccos by Giovanni Battista Pedrozzi. Since 1813, it has served as the Catholic parish church “Our Lady.”
