Marios Sarantidis was born in Athens, Greece. He studied Media and Communication at Panteion University of Athens. He took his diploma in Opera at the Academy of Theatre and Music in Munich as well as his Master of Arts based on music theatre performance and opera at the August Everding Academy under the guidance of the famous mezzosoprano Daphne Evangelatos. Since 2019 he also works vocally with Metropolitan Opera’s bass, Dimitri Kavrakos. He speaks English, French, Italian and German.
Whilst living in Germany and in Greece, Marios Sarantidis worked with numerous conductors such as Andreas Spering, Will Humburg, Andreas Kowalewitz, Markellos Chryssicos, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Ulrich Nicolai, Lukas Karytinos, Zoe Zeniodi, Stathis Soulis, George Petrou as well as with numerous stage directors, among them, Barrie Kosky, Tilman Knabe, Robert Tannenbaum, Rosamund Gilmore, Martina Veh, Nico Huempel, Roland Schwab, Nikos Karathanos, Spyros Evangelatos, Michael Marmarinos, Akyllas Karazisis, Katerina Evangelatos, Dimitris Karatzas and Thanos Papakonstantinou.
He has performed over 30 roles. His repertoire varies from Handel, Monteverdi, Mozart to Puccini, Wagner, Glass, and also contemporary music, musical, oratorio and Lieder.
Venues he has performed include the Prinzregenten and the Gärtnerplatz Theatres in Munich, Megaron Athens Concert Hall, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Greek National Opera, Stegi Onassis, Athens International Festival, Ingolstadt Theatre, Bad Reichenhall Festival and Neuschwanstein Wagner Festival.
