Panos Iliopoulos was born in Greece, where he studied piano, music theory as well as musicology at the Music Studies Department of the National University of Athens. He subsequently studied composition and piano at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim, as well as harpsichord and historical keyboard instruments at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
As a composer, arranger and performer of early keyboards, he has participated in numerous concerts, festivals and music theatre productions across Europe, e.g. at the Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht, Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis in Amsterdam, Orgelpark, Kameroperahuis Zwolle, MA Festival Brugge, Konzerthaus Vienna, Theater an der Wien, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Internationale Gluck Festspiele, Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall Moscow, Greek National Opera, Athens Festival and the National Theatre of Greece, collaborating with orchestras and early music ensembles such as the Geneva Camerata, Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, Armonia Atenea, Latinitas Nostra, Ex Silentio, Ensemble Lautenwerk, the State Orchestra of Athens and the State Symphony Orchestra Thessaloniki.
He has been featured in recordings and broadcasts of various TV and radio stations across Europe, including Concertzender, Radio 4 and NPO2 in the Netherlands, the Greek National Radio (ERT), Deutschlandradio Kultur and SWR2 in Germany and ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk), and has recorded for the labels Etcetera and Passacaille (Belgium).
