Stefan Plewniak

The Polish conductor and violinist Stefan Plewniak is Principal Conductor of the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles and former Music Director of the Warsaw Chamber Opera. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the ensembles Il Giardino d’Amore and Cappella dell’Ospedale della Pietà Venezia. In 2016, he also founded the FeelHarmony Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, Stefan Plewniak opened the Gstaad New Year Music Festival in Switzerland with Adele Charvet, Natalia Kawalek and Il Giardino d’Amore. He has also appeared as a guest conductor with the Kraków Philharmonic and the Łódź Philharmonic. In 2021, he toured Spain with soloist Jakub Józef Orliński and Il Giardino d’Amore. In 2020, he conducted the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles in a televised concert for France 5, featuring pop singer MIKA. That same year, he conducted Rameau’s Castor et Pollux at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where he had also led a production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice in 2019. He has conducted Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte for the opera studio in Oslo, led the opening gala of the 2019 International Mozart Festival in Warsaw, and conducted Carmen on tour in Norway. He was also invited to conduct the ballet Marie Antoinette at the Opéra Royal de Versailles.
