Giorgina Germanou is a set and costume designer based in Athens. She studied fine arts in Athens, before moving to London where she trained as a set designer and performance maker at the Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design. She completed her studies with a master’s degree in theatre studies at the University of Utrecht in order to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the contemporary theatrical and cultural scene from an academic standpoint. In recent years she has worked as a set and costume designer on various projects ranging from theatre and cinema to music videos, working both with experimental groups and with well-known organizations such as the Onassis Cultural Centre, the Athens Festival and the National Theatre of Greece. In 2020 she worked for the first time at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival.
