CHRISTOPHE ROUSSET
Dinner Concert
The royals of the Baroque age were nonpareil in holding court in grand and resplendent fashion. This included not only extravagantly appointed palaces and gorgeous attire and wigs, but also and above all richly decked tables and uplifting music. We cordially invite you in the best Baroque tradition to the Orangery of the Bayreuth Hermitage to enjoy an exquisite festive meal, in combination with a concert to fit the occasion in the Temple of the Sun.
Christophe Rousset, founder and director of this year’s orchestra in residence, Les Talens Lyriques, is one of the leading and most innovative artistic personalities on the international Early Music scene. He has rediscovered many treasures that were believed lost, especially French Baroque music. In an intimate setting in the Temple of the Sun in the Orangery, he performs some of his favourite works on the harpsichord.
