Handel’s Flavio at the Musiktheater an der Wien
The Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival is delighted to present the concert performance of Handel’s magnificent opera Flavio on April 17, 2024, in the sold-out Hall E of the MuseumsQuartier as part of the Musiktheater an der Wien. The musical direction of this revival, as in the premiere series at Bayreuth Baroque 2023, is in the skilled hands of Benjamin Bayl. The high-caliber cast is led by the extraordinary coloratura soprano Julia Lezhneva as Emilia. The role of Guido is taken on by star countertenor Max Emanuel Cencic, artistic director of Bayreuth Baroque, singer, director, producer, impresario.
We are very pleased to be able to present this production with the magnificent Baroque orchestra Concerto Köln, performing on period instruments.
