BAYREUTH BAROQUE WINS “BEST FESTIVAL” AT THE OPER! AWARDS 2024

Max Emanuel Cencic and his team can be delighted: on January 29, the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival has been honoured “Best Festival of the Year” by Oper! magazine – after only four editions!

“The fact that Max Emanuel Cencic has taken over the artistic direction”, said the award jury, “is a stroke of luck for the still young festival. Baroque opera can rarely be experienced as witty, entertaining, virtuosic and with such a vital connection to the present as it is here.”

In the short time since its inception, Bayreuth Baroque has established itself as a centre of international baroque culture, bringing together established stars and up-and-coming newcomers in the Margravial Opera House.
